Photography Florence, Italy

During the summer of 2007 I taught design in Florence, Italy. These gas covers (the gas meter for each building or residence is behind these covers) fascinated me. They are on every street in every part of town. The manner that they are tagged, obscured, hidden and made such blatant interruptions in the street-scape became something I documented a great deal. These are a small sampling. All images shot on a minolta x700 with kodak print film and scanned.
